Galvanized cable tray sections for a project RFQ
A usable RFQ defines the tray system, not only the width of a straight section.

A short inquiry may receive a fast number, but it rarely produces a quotation that can be compared or ordered. For project cable tray, the buyer should define the tray type, width, side height, thickness, material, finish, fittings, covers, supports, destination and document requirements in one scope.

When the route includes risers, congested plant rooms or non-standard fittings, attach marked-up drawings and identify each special fitting. A photo of the installation space can resolve orientation questions before fabrication.

3. Compare quotations on the same boundary

Check that every supplier has priced the same tray type, dimensions, material route, finish, cover scope, fitting list, support scope, documents, packing and freight basis. A lower unit price for straight tray does not mean a lower installed or delivered project cost when fittings and supports are excluded.

4. Add export details before order confirmation

  • Confirm maximum bundle dimensions and handling method at destination.
  • Separate and label small fittings so they can be checked against the packing list.
  • State whether plywood, steel frames or raw-wood packaging will be used.
  • Confirm any destination-specific wood-packaging or import requirements before packing.
  • Agree on product marks, package marks and document language.
  • Record the approved drawing revision in the purchase order.

The product standard and the shipping scope are different controls. Both should be frozen before production.

Frequently asked questions

Can Yunxing quote from drawings only?

Yes, drawings can start the review, but dimensions, finish, fitting orientation, support scope and delivery requirements still need confirmation.

Does a thicker tray always carry more load?

Not by itself. Cross-section, side-rail geometry, rung or bottom design, support span, joints and material also matter.

Should fittings be included in the first RFQ?

Yes. Omitting fittings, covers and supports is one of the main reasons project quotations become difficult to compare.
