Procurement answer: Yunxing can evaluate an after-fabrication hot-dip galvanized cable tray package with an order target of at least 86 µm when required by an export project; a domestic project may instead specify a target of at least 65 µm. ASTM A123/A123M-24 must still be applied by article category and base-steel thickness; 86 µm is not a universal ASTM minimum.

1. What an 86 µm target means

The purchaser may add ≥86 µm as a project-specific coating target. The purchase order should state whether this is an average or local requirement, how many readings are required and which tray parts are included.

2. RFQ specification template

  • Product: Tray type, W × H × T, length, quantity and material grade.
  • Coating route: Hot-dip galvanizing after fabrication.
  • Reference: ASTM A123/A123M-24 plus owner/project specification.
  • Target: ≥86 µm, with average/local criteria and sampling method stated.
  • System scope: Straights, bends, tees, reducers, covers, couplers, supports and fasteners.
  • Documents: Batch thickness records, certificate of conformity and third-party report if required.

3. Why the base metal matters

ASTM A123 coating-thickness tables depend on material category and steel thickness. Send the actual tray and support thicknesses rather than asking for “ASTM 86 µm” without article details.

4. Transparent evidence statement

The 86 µm figure is a current order capability for project evaluation. Final compliance is established by the agreed purchase specification and batch-specific inspection evidence. Yunxing does not use the existing 19.1 µm pre-galvanized sheet sample result as proof of an 86 µm after-fabrication HDG order.
