Short answer: Yunxing can evaluate after-fabrication hot-dip galvanized cable tray with a project target of at least 65 µm for domestic specifications, or at least 86 µm for export / ASTM A123 projects. The final requirement must define the article category, base-steel thickness, average or local readings, sampling and acceptance documents.

65 µm and 86 µm are project targets

  • ≥65 µm: an available project target that must be confirmed in the quotation, drawing and purchase order.
  • ≥86 µm: an available export-project target that can be evaluated against ASTM A123/A123M-24 and the purchaser's specification.
  • Important: ASTM A123 does not set one universal 86 µm minimum for every fabricated article. Coating requirements vary by material category and steel thickness.

Pre-galvanized sheet versus after-fabrication HDG

Pre-galvanized tray is formed from previously coated sheet. After-fabrication HDG is applied after cutting, punching, forming and required welding. The route affects edges, holes, welded areas, appearance and inspection records, so an RFQ should never use only the word “galvanized”.

Standards and purchaser documents

ASTM A123/A123M-24 covers hot-dip galvanized coatings on fabricated iron and steel products. GB/T 13912-2020 is the current Chinese standard for hot-dip galvanized coatings on fabricated iron and steel articles. Project drawings, coating schedules and purchase-order acceptance clauses remain controlling.

What to state in the RFQ

  1. Tray type, width, height, base-metal thickness, length and quantity.
  2. After-fabrication hot-dip galvanizing as the coating route.
  3. Required standard edition and owner specification.
  4. Target coating thickness, including average/local interpretation.
  5. Sampling locations, inspection method and third-party inspection if required.
  6. Fittings, covers, couplers, supports, fasteners, packing and delivery destination.

Evidence boundary

As of 2026-09-03, the 65 µm and 86 µm figures are project capabilities offered for order-specific evaluation. Acceptance should rely on the relevant batch coating-thickness record, quality certificate or agreed third-party report. A 2026 test result of 19.1 µm for a pre-galvanized sheet cable tray sample is not evidence for an after-fabrication 65/86 µm HDG order.
